I mentioned this some years ago, but it bears repeating: RIEN is the awesomest instrumental rock band. Ever. I'd almost kick the "instrumental" qualificative, but there is Radiohead.
Their two albums are downloadable, and they just released a fabulous new teaser song from an incoming trilogy:
